Height Growth – Stimulate the Height of Your Children

Height Growth – Stimulate the Height of Your Children

It is the wish of every parent that their child grows normally and attains the optimal height at the right time. Any discrepancies are sure to cause anxiety characterized by particular actions such as the use of supplements and several visits to the doctor’s office.

Your child grows fastest after birth up to one year (source: height website). It slows down thereafter, breaking down into mini-spurts until they reach puberty. By the time girls are 9 years of age, they experience one major growth spurt, which stops at 13. It is between 10 and 15 years for boys.

The two main determinants for height growth in children are genetics and nutrition. That said, the following are some of the ways to stimulate the height of your child.

Give them a balanced diet

Malnutrition is one of the chief causes of stunted growth. Give your child a balanced diet daily, and focus on high protein foods such as fish, chicken, and other lean meats. Research shows that children fed with a high protein diet experience better growth than those on a low protein diet.

Keep the cola, chips, and other junk away from your kitchen. The other foods to avoid include simple carbohydrates such as sweets, cakes, and pastry.

Let them sleep enough

In the age of gadgetry, it is easy for children to sleep less and less, and that is not good for them. Children should sleep between 10 and 12 hours continuously to allow their body to grow and recuperate. Necessary body processes for growth happen when the children are sound asleep.

Ensure proper intake of essential minerals and vitamins

Vitamin A, iron, and calcium should always be in the child’s diet to support healthy bodies and active height growth. The combination of these nutrients and proteins will enhance the growth of your children, and that is the primary goal.

The green leafy vegetables may not be a favorite of many kids, but they contain the right amount of minerals such as calcium and vitamins. The herbs also contain zinc, which plays a critical role in the growth process. Other zinc-rich foods include crab, squash seeds, wheat germ, and peanuts.

Exposure to sunshine helps the body synthesize vitamin A and strengthen the bones. It is therefore vital that the children go out to enjoy the sun and benefit from the goodies it has.

Encourage them to be active

It is imperative to encourage children to engage in outdoor games. Video games and watching TV for long periods can cause problems for them later in life. Encourage them to go outside and play the old-fashioned way.

You can buy them a bicycle or football that they can play with during their free time. Such exercise activities prevent obesity that may cause stunting, especially in boys.

Other exercises such as rope jumping, basketball, swimming, and yoga will help them grow at a reasonable rate. Children also love to hang from bars, and that is important in stretching the spine and enhancing growth.
